EDP aims to improve the health, wellbeing and employability of individuals and their families affected by substance misuse, mental health issues, and other harmful addictive and offending behaviour. EDP currently delivers services across Devon and Dorset, including in 6 prisons (HMP Channings Wood, HMP Dartmoor, HMP Exeter, HMP Guys Marsh, HMP/YOI Portland and HMP The Verne) and throughout the Devon and Dorset community. The Challenges

EDP were looking for a partner with a proven track record to provide the organisation with a new bespoke workflow solution for incident management and a SharePoint Intranet. The organisation has a disparate workforce distributed across several offices and locations as well as mobile and home workers. OfficeLabs were approached to help the organisation to resolve the following key drivers for the project:

  1. Provide a fast track SharePoint Intranet to deliver:
    • Corporate Intranet homepage
    • Document libraries
    • Training resources
    • Self help tools & reference Centre
    • Subsites for operations, services, policies and templates including:

– HR

– Finance

– Employee directory

– Learning & Development

– Group collaboration tools

  1. Develop a bespoke incident reporting and management workflow solution using SharePoint forms
The OfficeLabs Solution

OfficeLabs were selected to deliver the entire project, from scoping through to deployment and support. Due to operational pressures the organisation wanted the solution to be implemented as fast as possible. OfficeLabs developers were tasked with building a forms-based workflow for incident management. The organisations exact business process requirements were gathered, which were transformed into a highly bespoke solution for logging an incident, escalation and sign off.

Once the development of the incident management solution was in progress, OfficeLabs SharePoint consultants quickly helped the organisation to determine their exact requirements for a new intranet. This information was gathered and a SharePoint Intranet was built with the OfficeLabs fast track Intranet service. The new Intranet was built and delivered to EDP within 10 days. It was then tailored to fully address their operational needs and tested by key stakeholders who signed off this element of the project.
