A simple tip to give you a break between Teams meetings

Microsoft created a little feature with a huge impact on the wellbeing of your day
With communication and hybrid working becoming more important than ever, many of us find ourselves in back to back calls, sometimes for hours on end. A quick 5 minute refresh between meetings can make all the difference on a busy day, Microsoft Outlook have understood this and created a simple trick to do so.
Each system and browser have a slightly different set up. Scroll down to find the right one for your option
For Outlook on – Windows desktop
- Select File and then Options.
- Select Calendar and then Calendar options.
- Here you will see the Shorten appointments and meetings options.
You can customize these as you wish, choosing to start all meetings slightly late or end slightly early. They can also depend on the length of your meeting, being under 1 hour or over 1 hour.
For the Outlook – Web browser
- Select the Settings cog
- Select Calendar and then Event and invitations
- Here you will see the Shorten duration of all events options.

For Outlook on – MacOS
- From the menu click Outlook and then Preferences.
- Select Configure, next to the Shorten duration for all events.
- Check the Shorten duration of all events tick box.
